BRAVO PHCAPSULE TESTING FOR ACID REFLUX

A miniature pH capsule that measures the severity of acid reflux is attached to the wall of the esophagus during an endoscopic procedure. The acid sensor in the capsule transmits data to a receiver worn on the patient’s belt over a period of two days. The capsule falls off the esophageal wall in approximately three days and easily passes through the intestinal tract. The data allows determination of the degree and severity of acid reflux.
